The Womens Plus Size Clothing Revolution

by: Donna Monday
Once upon a time, not too long ago, if you were a woman who wore clothes over a size 14 your clothing choices were limited to cheap looking, baggy and unattractive clothes that made you look old before your time.

My how times have changed! There has been a cultural shift in the acceptance of plussize women, particularly in the fashion industry. Womens plus size clothing is no longer relegated to the back of the isle racks. Now days, its easy to find trendy plus size clothes such as: dresses, workout clothes, evening wear and swimwear.

Plus size celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Camryn Manheim, and Star Jones have also helped to usher in the era of plus size fashions. These women take pride in looking fashionable no matter how much their weight fluctuates. You can even see a once thin actress, Kirstie Alley, strut her stuff in her new cable show Fat Actress. This would have been unthinkable just a few years ago.

Even the high fashion industry has taken notice. Models such as Emme have become famous for modeling large size fashions for women. Agencies are also looking for aspiring plus size models. Women looking for designer plus size clothes online will not be disappointed.

In the past, clothing for large size women 22w to 44w was extremely difficult to find and forget about being fashionable. Now, companies are springing up like Making It Big, who cater exclusively to this fashion hungry niche of clothing for big women. If you are looking for big women clothing, you now have more choice than ever when it comes to large size clothes for women.

Another old taboo in full figured clothing was that plus size women didnt look good in ladies intimate apparel. Oh, Im not talking about women wearing a large size bra (which its now easier to find comfortable large size bras). Plus size bras have been available for a long time. No, I mean really sensual full figure intimate apparel.

Designers have discovered that any woman will look good in intimate apparel if its made right for her body. Now, even in this fashion segment, plus sized womens clothing has grown leaps and bounds. Plus size intimate apparel comes in all colors, styles and sizes, so that you can show off your sensual side too, ladies!

Need nice clothes for work? You can find an array of plus size suits, including: plus size pants suits, and plus size womens suits.

Going to the beach or pool? Its now possible to find a wide selection of plus size swimming suits. Where plus size swim suits used to be mostly black and unattractive, they are now very colorful and figure flattering.

Getting married? Obtaining a wedding dress plus size is no longer a huge ordeal. If you are looking for a large size wedding dress, with all the frills, or a plus size informal wedding dress, youll be delighted at the selection youll find online and offline. No bride should have an ill-fitting wedding dress, or be denied beautiful style that their thinner sisters enjoy. Many wedding boutiques and some online outlets offer beautiful plus size wedding dresses, and be assured that your plus size wedding dress will fit and look beautiful.

Yes, my friends. The plus size womens clothing revolution has arrived. Our plus size sisters can now have a closet full of great looking clothes and keep pace with the best fashionistas. Not only is this great for plus size women, its great for society as well. Everyone can now see that a womans inner and outer beauty has nothing to do with size.

Look Fashionable At The Beach!

by: Sher Matsen
Its that time of year when we pack up our bags and head to the beach for the day to enjoy those warm sunrays and the refreshing sound of the lapping water.

So what constitutes a good beach wardrobe. Well there are certain essentials that none of us forget. On goes the swimsuit and bathing suit cover, flip flops on our feet. Beach bag has been packed with the essentials sunglasses, floppy hat, towel and a good book. Great got the basics covered but what about the rest.

So if we are so prepared for a day at the beach, why is it by the time we get home we look pretty worn. Here are some helpful tips to make your day at the beach fun and keep you looking fashion fresh all day and all the way home.

First before you leave home, if youve got long hair pull it into a high pony tail or fun knot. Use some funky hair accessories that will stay in place when youre swimming. Try a fun colored bobble or some firm fastening clips in bright summer colors. If you pull your hair up your neck will stay cool and youll look fresh all day with your neat hairdo.

Second slather yourself in sunscreen before leaving the house, then toss the sunscreen in your bag so you can reapply after a swim or every few hours. A sunburn is not only unhealthy and painful, its unattractive, so dont let yourself turn into the lobster of the day. Your sunscreen should be a SPF of 15. It doesnt hurt to use a strong SPF on your face or your entire body if you burn easily.

Your beach bag should be large enough to hold your supplies for the day. Why not get something fun and fashionable to keep you looking fashion fresh. Make sure youve got all the daily essentials in your bag sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, a floppy hat, some lip gloss, and any other makeup touch ups youll want. If you plan to wear eye makeup make sure its waterproof. Stay away from heavy foundations. If you must apply something use a bronzer moisturizer. Its also a good idea to bring lip balm with an SPF15 to protect your lips. It never hurts to put some moisturizer in the bag. Include a snack and plenty of fluids. Its important not to get dehydrated.

Okay great weve got the basics covered now what about the wardrobe basics? If youre planning to wear a swimsuit its usually easiest to put it on at home, that way youre not chasing down change rooms. So great first on goes the swimsuit. Now what to wear for a cover? Well youve got plenty of choices. A tank top and shorts, tank and skort, or a nice light cotton dress all work well over top. Choose something thats easy to put on and take off, and choose fabrics that breathe to keep you cool. I also suggest including a long sleeved cotton blouse just incase you start to burn you can protect your shoulders and arms.

If youre planning on heading out later in the day without returning home you might want to toss a pair of jeans or long skirt into your bag. If your outing is going to extend into the evening youll want to include a sweater for the cooler evening air. If youre worried about your evening wear getting sandy or wet at the beach, then place them in a separate bag and leave them in the trunk of your car. That way you are guaranteed theyll remain fresh.

My favorite beach look is this. And whats perfect is it keeps me looking fashion fresh throughout the day and takes me right into the evening. First I like a swimsuit thats got lots of support and is bright and cheerful. I throw a fitted tank on top and throw on a loose flouncy long skirt. The long skirt serves me through the evening and also works great to cover up if Im starting to burn. I choose a lightweight material in a darker color with a pattern that accents the colors in my swimsuit. Flip flops are my footwear. Depending on where Im heading after the beach I choose either a basic pair or one of my funky pair with rhinestones or crystals. Easy to walk in, feet breath, and terrific for an evening out. I keep a fitted light weight sweater in my car, and take a long sleeved cotton blouse down to the beach. I usually choose a long sleeved and long length blouse because its versatile. I can knot it to create a short blouse, wear it long as a beach cover, and put it on if I start to burn on my upper body. I usually choose white or a soft pastel depending on my other colors. I like white because its cool to wear and refreshing to look at. Every year I buy a fun new beach tote thats big enough for the beach but not too big as to take it with me for an evening out. I like a fun bag thats full of character.

Since I always feel naked without my jewelry I wear fashion jewelry to the beach. That way should I loose something I wont be out a lot of money and I wont feel so bad. I like to keep the earrings simple and elegant. I may or may not wear a necklace. Often Ill toss a funky wood necklace in the bag to add to the evening outfit. I like to wear a couple of fashion rings just to add the finishing touches. Now if youre fussy about tan lines youll probably want to forgo the rings. I toss my watch in the bottom of my bag so I can put it on later.

Thats it simple is the key. Keep your beach wardrobe choices simple but fashionable. Think ahead so you can go from beach to an evening out without hassle. Remember to always make your fashion statement!

How To Pick The Perfect Wedding Dress

by: Ron swerfiger
Perhaps the biggest worry of a bride-to-be, is picking out the perfect wedding gown. There are many questions you need to ask yourself before you ever step foot inside a bridal shop. Below are just a few of the questions you need to ask yourself before making this big decision.

How much are you willing to spend?

The truth of the matter is, your wedding dress is only a fraction of the total cost of a wedding. Before you go picking out a dress, you first need to decide how much out of your whole budge you are willing to spend on the dress. There are many great looking gowns out there for a very reasonable cost, as well as beautiful gowns which can cost as much as most peoples entire wedding. Depending on the designer and material the cost can vary greatly. You need to know your limit, and shop within it.

What will you be wearing with the gown?

The dress is only part of your total appearance on your wedding day. You need to decide what else you will be wearing. Accessories such as, vale, shoes, jewelry etc, are all contributing factors when choosing your perfect dress. Your gown and accessories should all flow together in a beautiful piece.

Style

There are many amazing styles out there right now. Some brides choose to go with classic looks that have stood the tests of time, while others want a more contempory style. Your gown should fit within the theme of your wedding. If you are going for a very traditional theme, you gown should be very conservative and fit within that theme. For some great ideas on picking the style thats right for you check out.

Once these key questions are answered you are ready to take the plunge into the extremely beautiful world of shopping for wedding dresses. One of the biggest mistakes new brides make is letting their mother-in-law, big brother, or sales clerk choose their dress for them. The bottom line is, you have to decide whether-or-not a particular dress is right for you. Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the greatest days of your life. Everything is supposed to be just perfect, so dont settle for just any dress. Choose one that is right for you in every way. Don't forget you need to get the right lingerie, shoes and jewelry, to go with your beautiful wedding dress, but that is for another time.

How Do I Wear Womens Suede Boots?

by: Brian Fong
Throughout time, women have had a love affair with footwear. Forget diamonds or furs footwear has been and continues to be the accessory of choice for many women from all social circles. Just look inside any womans closet and you are sure to find more than one pair of shoes inside. In fact, rarely will you find only one pair. You are more likely to find shoes for work, shoes for play, shoes for exercising and more types of footwear including several pair of boots and at least one pair of slippers. And almost every woman, at some time during her life, has owned at least one pair of womens suede boots .

Now, womens suede boots are making a comeback. Throughout the years, this type of footwear has come into and gone out of style which in fashion terms makes this style a classic. Look around and you will see that boots made from suede are everywhere; at playhouses, at chic nightclubs, in shopping malls, at the beach and all places in between. There are so many trendy styles available and so many ways to wear womens suede boots that there is just not enough room here to list them all.

How you wear a pair of womens suede boots really is just a matter of the look that you are trying to achieve. If you are simply looking for comfort, a pair of neutral colored, ankle length boots will do the trick. The natural color of the boot will match any outfit. Don a few suede accessories such as a purse and/or a lightweight suede jacket and you will achieve a look that is comfortable and very stylish. If you are heading out for a night on the town, you will want a style that looks good. Oftentimes women have to trade off comfort for appearance. Not so when you pair your outfit with suede boots. A tall length boot in black will give you a look that is sleek and sophisticated (and best of all, comfortable!) If instead you will be spending the night watching the latest hit movie that has been released on DVD, then a pair of suede boot style slippers will be the right choice. Any look you are trying to achieve, whether it is the western look, the punk look, the trendy look or the outrageous look, can be accomplished simply by finishing off your outfit with the right pair of womens suede boots.

The nice thing about womens suede boots is that they are made from animal skin, a natural material. If an animals skin can protect the animal from the elements, just think how these boots can help protect your feet. A double faced suede material will have the best mix of features. The inside of the boot will be soft and pliable and after just a short amount of time wearing the boots, the insoles will conform to the shape of the arch. The natural wicking properties of the animal skin will keep moisture and perspiration away from the feet helping them stay dry, comfortable and odor free. To reap the most benefits, these boots should be worn on bare feet.

Then consider the outside of the boot. Because it is easy to dye suede, these boots are available in a rainbow of color options. Plus, there are literally hundreds of styles to choose from. With so many color and style options available, it is easy to wear womens suede boots making this the number one reason why these boots have yet to go out of style.

Gucci Purse Real or Fake?

by: Mike Yeager
Gucci purses, designer accessories, status quo for those with money and those who pretend like they do. Where did it all start? Via Condotti, Rome was home to the first shop opened in 1938 by Guccio Gucci. By 1947 Guccio had brought us the instantaneously recognizable Gucci icon. The leather bag with the bamboo handle. Popularity rose during the 1960's, when Hollywood stars such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn made Gucci Chic. Gucci also made front-page news when Jackie Kennedy was photographed with the handbag that became known as the "Jackie O."

Gucci purses today are found for sale alongside Kate Spade, Burberry, and Prada, other well-known designer accessory names, in high-end fashion stores like Neiman Marcus, and can sell from anywhere between $350.00 to $4,800.00. However, if you are in the market for vintage Gucci purses, like classic vintage bamboo and leather braid handbags, you can always find an online auction.

High end too steep, afraid of auctions, there is always a knock-off. Gucci purses, along with other well-known brand names have become known for knock-offs. In fact, knock-off purses are even more popular than the originals. According to federal agents, knock-off products have become a 60 billion-dollar a year market. Big money made easily. These fakes are even bigger than drugs. They can be found anywhere from flea markets, to upscale boutiques. If you want an authentic Gucci make sure the label is on it. Real or fake it's all in the label.

Designer Handbags -- Should We Trust the Sales Assistants

by: Rufus Steele
Readers of my previoius articles might well think that the answer to this question will be a categorical NO, based on my "Designer Handbags -- Can Men Buy Them" article. In it I described the experience I recently had in an LV store where the staff were not exacxtly falling over themselves to serve me, a mere male in a handbag store.

But my answer would have to be a carefully restrained -- Maybe!

Now the direct, and indirect, knowledge that I use for the answer to this question is pulled purely from experiences and tales recounted by others involving Louis Vuitton stores. I cannot say for certain whether or not it applies to other designer labels -- although I strongly suspect it will do!

Now at one time, store managers and assistants were held in the same revered light that doctors enjoyed. What they said or reported was seen as gospel, never to be questioned, let alone doubted.

But doctors are only human, bless 'em. They, like us, make mistakes and errors in judgement. (With the hours some of them have to work I'm not in the least little bit surprised!)

In the olden days, when a doctor advised that little Johny was suffering nothing more than a slight fever and should be fed aspirin every fours hours until he perked up, no thought of questioning the diagnosis would occur to mom and dad -- even though they could see little Johny's leg was bent forwards 90 degrees at the knee and he kept fainting every time someone coughed near it!

It used to be like that in the stores as well.

"Good Morning Modom, may I help you?"

"Yes please, may I see the new Hyanuki Messenger Bag please?"

"Oh, I'm so sorry Modom, that bag hasn't been released yet! Well, it certainly wasn't before I went on my holiday, anyway."

"Erm, isn't it the one on the shelves over there? The stack of three of them with the sign on the front saying 'Hyanuki Messnger Bag'?"

"No Modom, certainly not! It can't be or else I would have been told about it!"

Now, staff in the LV stores are never allowed to give out written authenticity statements for any bags! Any at all.

If you like -- test me on this!

Go into one of their stores and buy a bag there and then. As soon as you've been handed your receipt, try asking for a note from the sales assistant or manager, affirming the fact that this bag is an authentic item!

They'll politely decline! (They'll also probably look at you as though you're totally bonkers, but don't worry about that, there are plenty more stores to go and buy from!)

Not because they don't doubt the authenticty -- but because they aren't allowed to by company rules.

I used to think that this was because they would never be sure that the letter or note of authenticity wouldn't then be copied or used to give a fake bag an incorrect "value", make it appear genuine and authentic.

Now, I'm sure that a large element of that reason still remains. However, I think it is also tempered by another reason, one which should concern anyone seeking an accurrate assesment of their bags.

I believe that they refuse to allow this valuation to be recorded in any form in case it is wrong. Because they expect it to be wrong on occassion.

Too tall an idea to be believeable?

Well, how about if I told you about a lady I know who had a hilarious experience in an LV store.

She was the lucky owner of a Gold Suhali bag. Now, these are rare, seriously rare. It's the type of bag that only the celebs get to own because of A) Price and B) Exclusivity! I cannot remember where she had got hers from -- but I do know it was without a doubt authentic!

She went into an LV store and proceeded to look around. She did notice what seemed to be a frosty reception from the sales assistants but assumed it was directed somewhere else. Imagine her surprise when she discovered it was aimed at her. Both of the sales assistants in the store thought she was a fugly lover -- because they believed the Gold Suhali was a fake! Not only didn't they know that one had been released, they didn't even know they'd be made in the first place!

And before you leap from your seat in defence of the beleagured sales assistants with a shout of "Well, that 's not strange if the bag is so rare!" let me temper this by saying that the bag was rare in the same way as the Mona Lisa is rare. Rare -- but everyone knows about it!

With the increase in the number of bags in a range and the number of ranges as well, it will always be an ever expanding job for LV and other designer labels to ensure all their staff are up to speed on all the bags available and their particular differences.

However much training they receive - they'll always be behind the times on one or two ranges or items at least. No amount of store training will be able to overcome the simple dynamics of time available for training v number of staff requiring training v people available to do training divided by time available across all the people required to be involved in the training.

Sadly, no one knows all the answers.

Now, if you're lucky enough to find a store assistant with whom you can strike up a "rapport" then you should be able to trust their answers more than most. If they don't know the real answer, it's in their best interests to find out for you.

But should you trust an SA without question?

No, I don't think so. You should temper their answer with information that you glean from other sources as well, such as forums, chat groups of like minded designer lovers and from press and magazine articles.

Balance these sources of answers together -- and you'll always have the best answer possible -- and not a potential bad guess!

Are You One Of The 40,000,000 Invisible Women In Our Society?

by: Georgia Donovan
It's a sad but true fact that so many women over forty feel invisible. Changing this has become my passion.

One of the things that inspired me to do what I now do, after having had an executive position with a telecom giant, was an experience I had one day following one of my seminars.

An attractive, well dressed woman came up to me and told me that the thing she hated most about becoming older was that she felt invisible. She explained how, everywhere you look, you see woman in their twenties and thirties being presented as role models for beauty and style. Rarely do you see mature women in TV and print ads and some of the fashion magazines feature teenagers as models. There's only one magazine devoted entirely to the mature woman - More Magazine.

Just because we're getting older doesn't mean we have to become an invisible part of society. It doesn't mean we we have to let ourselves go, gain weight and start looking frumpy. My late aunt Josie, while in her eighties, looked like she just stepped off the cover of Vogue whenever she went out.

A woman can still look great as she ages if . . . she learns how to do it.

Many of the makeup techniques that work on a twenty or thirty year old, are a disaster on the face of a forty five year old woman. Unfortunately, many older women have not yet learned this. As we age, one of the makeup secrets we need to know is that "Less is better."

Mistakes in wardrobe are even more apparent. Recently, I was asked by a national magazine to comment on some celebrity women. Here's what I had to say about an outfit that Kim Catrall, who I happen to adore, was wearing:

"Belly bearing cutoffs and lace up top are not for the over forty woman. Longer, boy cut shorts and a fuller cut tank with a built-in bra would give her the same bare look."

Below are some fashion anchors every woman over forty should have in her wardrobe:

- A Little Black Dress - Black/Navy Pencil or A-Line Skirt - Black/Navy Slacks/Trousers - Black Cashmere Sweater - White Shirt - Comfortable yet Chic Black 2 heels - Classic Trench Coat

Fashion tips: Pants with clean lines, no pockets, no pleats look best on almost every woman because they are slimming.

Black or navy will make you look thinner, but add some color with accessories to give your look some flair. Elastic waist pants or skirts are to be avoided at all costs because they flatter no one.

Develop a signature. Wear a favorite ring or special bracelet all the time. Something people will always identify and remember about you.

The scarf should be a wardrobe staple. Learn how to use it and wear it many ways, such as, looped through your pants as a belt, or tied on the handle of your handbag.

Until next time, keep looking your best and claim your power.

Are You Looking For Some Discount Ugg Boots?

by: Brian Fong
If you find yourself caught up in the recent boot craze, but think that these trendy boots are way out of touch with your wallet, there is something that you should know. Ugg boots, those oh-so-soft multi-hued boots made from pure Australian sheep skin are available at a discount, if you know where to look. The best place to begin checking for discount ugg boots is on the Internet. The Internet is a wonderful invention. With a good search engine and a few clicks of a button, you can locate just about anything on the Internet, even long-lost distant relatives you had hoped you would never see again. Just begin your search for discount ugg boots by typing an appropriate phrase into the search area. Faster than you can blink an eye, your computer screen will fill with pages upon pages of links you can click to start your search for your very own pair of these trendy boots. If you are looking for discount ugg boots have a look at the great deals here.

The most obvious place to begin your search for discount ugg boots, even without using a search engine, is to visit your favorite web auction site. There you can search for boots, or more specifically, ugg boots, or even more specifically, three-quarter length, tan ugg boots in size seven. Press a button, find a pair that matches your criteria and start naming your price. Before you know it, you will have at your doorstep your very own pair of size seven, tan, three-quarter length ugg boots. See that was not so hard!

Also available on the Internet are different types of shopping mall clubs which you can join by paying the stated membership fee. These types of clubs offer members the ability to purchase various items including clothing, home accessories and other consumables that are available through the particular virtual shopping mall program at a discount. The product lines that these types of virtual shopping malls carry typically include the types of items that one would expect to find in a normal shopping mall environment. So, search around for a shopping mall program which offers discount ugg boots, join the program, and shop around until you find the perfect pair. Who knows, you may just get hooked on the virtual shopping mall experience. Most credit cards are accepted!

The reality is that because this style of boot is just so popular and the product seems to literally fly off the shelf, discount ugg boots may be difficult to locate, even on the Internet. From a retailers point of view, it does not make good financial sense to discount the price of a product that is easily and continuously selling at full retail price. With the fall season in full swing and the holiday season right around the corner, this style of boot likely will continue its brisk selling pace making discounts difficult to locate.

Eventually, however, stores will begin to discount their prices in an effort to draw consumers into their stores and encourage them to make purchases. If you are patient and are willing to take time to research the Internet and other retail outlets, you will eventually be able to find a pair of discount ugg boots that fit your needs, and your feet and wont cause too much damage to your wallet.

Just be aware that the market is quickly flooding with lower quality imitations of this boot style. You may find that some discount ugg boots are not made from pure Australian sheep skin. These boots will likely look pretty close to the real thing, but your feet will know the difference.

Accentuate Your Looks With The Right Purse

by: Ernie Sanders
We're positive that no matter how you see yourself -- trendy, corporate or casual -- your ultimate goal is to look "together" - to look beautiful and elegant in your poise and style of clothing and accessories. You spend hours looking for the right outfit and analyze it many times over to make sure it perfects and gives you that eye catching look. But do you give that same time and scrutiny to your accessories like your purse and handbag before throwing it over your shoulder and leaving the house?

You probably didn't know that a purse can flatten your curves almost as much as the right pair of pants or shirt. Now that we have your attention read on to determine your shape and what type purse you should carry.

Try to choose a purse shape that is the opposite of your body type. While the shape should oppose your body type for maximum flattery, the size of the bag should be in proportion to your figure. If you are tall and thin, look for the large sloppy bags that lay against you to compliment your figure. If you're short and voluptuous, play off opposites by choosing a handbag that is tall and rectangular or long and sleek.

Most women look great with a bag that hits mid-torso because it flatters the waist.

Take a look at the five basic body shapes and find the best purse for your shape:

 Narrow Top/Full Bottom

If you have full hips or tummy and small top, draw the eye up with accessories. You should carry a bag with short straps that fits snug under your arm.

 Full Top/Narrow Bottom

If the fullness you carry on top is unwanted (some do pay for it, you know) turn the area into a "no man's land". Nothing should cause the eye to linger so draw the eye downwards by carrying long slouching bags.

 Hour Glass

If you got it girl, flaunt it! This shape best describes a woman who is balanced on top and bottom with a defined waist and is considered the ideal body shape. You can carry off anythinglucky lady!!

 Narrow/Top to Bottom

If you are naturally thin, you have always faced the challenges that come with dressing this body shape. If you are unnaturally thin -- by choice -- you probably, prefer to show it off. The key is to add dimension to your profile. Dont choose a bag that will hug the body too much. Think unstructured, bulky type purses. Try anything with horizontal detail in the patterns.

 WIDE FROM TOP TO BOTTOM

In general, the rounder your figure, the more structured your purse should be. For this body type, shape and color is important. Colors should be muted, monochromatic is best and prints should be kept to a minimum. Draw the eye to the top or center of the torso with a mid-length strap.

Now you know the right purse for you! Always remember to try on the bagjust like you would clothing and shoes. Remember that where the purse touches your body, that part of your body is accentuated. For example, if the purse is under your arm against your breast, the eye is drawn up to the bag.

So take the time to look for the right purse for youits not always the same purse that your best friend carries. A purse should not only carry your personal belongings, it should add to your style and looks.

8 Things That Maketh Not The Lady

by: T. O' Donnell
1. Tattoos.

Tattoos used to be the colouring of soldiers, sailors, mafiosi and punk rockers. About ten years ago, they became fashionable. The lower-middle classes started taking them up. Unfortunately, unlike last years' shoes, tattoos can't be taken to the thrift shop and disposed of.

To a certain class of person, tattoos are 'cool'. To another, they are a graffito on the temple of the soul. They mark a woman definitively as lower class, alienated, depressed, and a bit daft. They're also a handy way to identify one absolutely to the authorities. Which shows how stupid some crooks are.

The same goes for piercings. My family are farmers. I associate nose rings with bulls, and piercings with cattle tags. They are a haven of dirt, infection, and their openings look unsightly.

With tattoos and piercings, before you've opened your mouth, you've already typed yourself to people you meet.

2. Highlights and streaks.

Are you blonde, or brunette? Make up your mind! These might have been novel ten years ago. Now they just look common. Not all gentlemen prefer blondes. A healthy head of untinted brunette or raven dark hair is a pleasant novelty these days.

It is true that blondes have more fun. I used to be one! Most people on the planet are dark. A non-blonde with blonde hair looks 'interesting'.

Now this fashion is done to death, however. If they're doing it in Romford, it's buried!

3. Big hoop earrings.

Unmistakably part of the wardrobe of the gypsy. Which is fine if you are one. Strangely popular. Perhaps they're to make the wearer's head look smaller. Add them to the features above, and an unattractive type emerges.

4. Binge drinking.

Binge drinking, squawking and falling over in the street is hilarious if you are the one doing it. If you are the spectator, it's less so.

5. Visible G-string.

This is erotic, no doubt about it. Unless you haven't the figure to pull it off. Likely to provoke a reaction of 'Mother of G*d!' when adorning the pasty, blemished buttocks of the 'full-figured' young lady. Bad diet, no exercise, five-pints-a-night, then 'peek-a-boo!'. Agggh!

I used to wonder why so many saucily-dressed young ladies walked the streets hatchet-faced. Now I now. Half are trying to ward off unwanted vulgar advances from men, the other half are annoyed they're not getting any!

There's nothing sexy about contrived, blatant eroticism. What's erotic is what seems to be an accident. 'A glimpse of stocking is something quite shocking' etc.

Likely to irritate female co-workers also. Assuming your company allows such clothing. It doesn't? I wonder why?

6. Swearing.

Your gentleman friends might find this amusing, to your face. What they think in private is another matter. Habitual swearing is another sign of a depressed, angry person. It's unattractive. The more you do it, the more it corrodes your subconscious.

7. Breast Augmentation.

Also known as a 'boob job'. These look fine, from a distance. Compared to a natural pair, they look odd. They are to real breasts what a transexual is to a 'red hot mama'; no competition. Up close, they're just not as good as the real thing. A perfectly functional piece of equipment has been turned into a cartoon joke, with possible long-term medical consequences.

Some men like small breasts. Beauty is a matter of proportion. Some women are neurotic about their appearance; nothing will please them.

A good example is ...

8. Disappearing Eyebrows.

They get plucked away to nothingness, then get drawn or tattooed back in. And this is better? One can end up looking freakish, even clown-like. Loss of hair suggests illness. Plucking out one's hair is often a sign of mental illness. Girls, desist! Don't try to gild the lily!

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are people who'll encourage you in the above. They'll say you look lovely. Misery loves company, and some people delight in the fall of others.

Be your own woman. Stand back from yourself, your life and your surroundings, and decide your own destiny.
